In this leadership role, the position is responsible for the technical supervision of the entire mechanical engineering team's work and ensures that best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed. The position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and may be entrusted with the planning, coordination, and assignment of projects within the mechanical engineering team.

The Engineering Department of American Hofmann Corporation is a small, versatile, and interdisciplinary team that works collaboratively on industrial balancing projects. The position requires close cooperation within the engineering department, as well as regular communication with the sales, production, testing, and service departments. The Lead Engineer must effectively communicate and coordinate technical information and requirements between these departments.

Your tasks

  • Construction of industrial balancing machines, devices, and associated equipment, taking into account industry regulations, international standards, and customer-specific requirements
  • Development of construction models, assemblies, and detail drawings in Solid Edge
  • Creating precise Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the Industrios ERP System
  • Meticulous documentation of all work, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performance of necessary design and development-related calculations.
  • Prevention of errors and initiation of suitable corrective actions to comply with the requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management system

Testing Technician

What can you expect at Hofmann?

The test technician (m/f/d) carries out the final inspection of balancing machines in the production area. In this role, you will independently calibrate and balance systems, work closely with the engineering team to prepare machines for customer acceptance, and support internal customer acceptances and training. Occasional commissioning at customer sites may be required. In addition, the position may require overtime.

Framework conditions

  • On-site activity in the production area to support final inspections and customer acceptances
  • Occasional travel may be required under certain circumstances for customer implementations.
  • Overtime may be required depending on production schedules and customer deadlines

Your tasks

  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic assemblies
  • Calibration, inspection, and repair of balancing machines and balancing equipment, as well as documentation of results and initiated corrective actions.
  • Identify issues and coordinate closely with the engineering team to resolve errors and deviations before customer acceptance.
  • Creation of test data according to the requirements of American Hofmann Corporation (AHC) and/or customer acceptance specifications
  • Support for internal customer acceptances and conducting customer training as needed

Your qualifications

  • Completed training or a degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical professional experience

Your skills

  • Strong mathematical and mechanical understanding
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and perform tests on electromechanical systems
  • Basic practical knowledge of handling PLC control systems
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Secure use of computer systems and standard software, especially Windows, Excel spreadsheets and comparable applications
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work efficiently even under time pressure and reliably meet customer appointments and project deadlines
