Flexible for all series sizes

Precise balancing for crankshafts

Hofmann offers both pure unbalance measuring machines without correction and balancing machines with an integrated machining station that automatically corrects the unbalance by drilling. Depending on the accuracy and cycle time requirements in series production, single or multi-station machines are available.

As these machines work according to the distance-measuring principle, no complex foundation is required. Even interfering vibrations caused by passing forklift trucks or neighboring machines do not affect the measuring accuracy. The sophisticated software optimally distributes the measured unbalance to the available correction planes and angular positions.

Hofmann also offers suitable solutions for small batches or purely inspection tasks. The universal balancing machines can also be equipped with manual bore compensation if required, guaranteeing maximum flexibility for varying production requirements.

Another quality feature that can be installed in our balancing machines for crankshafts is the fully automatic calibration system for calibration before the start of production, during operation or after a defined number of balancing cycles.

In-line and V-crankshafts

Type UHK

The 1-station balancing machines UHK 12, 16 and 19 have sliding protection or a protective fence and combine precise measurement with efficient unbalance correction. The measuring system works with a frequency-controlled belt drive, maintenance-free measuring sensors and axially adjustable bearing pedestals with hardened measuring rollers. A drilling spindle performs the unbalance correction via manual or automatic feed, supported by line lasers for exact positioning. Operation and evaluation are carried out conveniently via a 19-inch touchscreen, while integrated software, tool management and chip extraction make operation economical and low-maintenance. Suitable for the final balancing of small car to large truck crankshafts in symmetrical and asymmetrical designs with mounted ring weights.

Special features

  • Easy to convert, with bearing pedestals guided in T-slots
  • Easy to use thanks to intuitive operating concept
  • Economical operation (monitor with compensation data directly on the machine)
  • Maintenance-free and wear-free vibration transducers
  • Exact drilling depths by teaching the position of the drill tip
  • Dry processing
  • Chip disposal via suction mask and chip extraction system
  • High-quality German drill spindle
  • Tool management (99 tools)
  • Integrated statistics software
  • Automatic MFU
  • Automatic calibration unit
